Policies & Terms of Access

1. Acceptance of Terms

By enrolling in any Sleep Coaching Institute (SCI) program, you agree to the terms outlined below. These policies apply to all SCI courses, certifications, and digital materials and remain in effect for the duration of your access.

2. Digital Delivery & Refund Policy

All Sleep Coaching Institute programs are delivered digitally and provide immediate access to proprietary educational content, including videos, downloads, quizzes, and interactive materials.

Due to the digital nature of these programs and instant access upon purchase, all sales are final and non-refundable. We do not offer money-back guarantees, trial periods, or partial refunds.

We strongly encourage prospective learners to review program descriptions, learning objectives, and any available previews prior to enrollment.

Limited Exception

If you can demonstrate—via a support request—that access was never granted due to a verified technical error on our end (not user error such as incorrect login details), a refund may be considered at our discretion.

Please contact support before initiating any chargebacks or payment disputes. Chargebacks may result in account suspension.

This policy applies to the extent permitted by law. International customers may have additional rights under local consumer protection regulations.

3. Program Access Duration

Non-Certification Programs

Non-certification programs include consumer and educational offerings that do not confer a professional credential.

These programs grant lifetime access, provided Sleep Coaching Institute remains operational and continues hosting the content. Minor updates and revisions are included at no additional cost. Substantial revisions or new versions may be released as separate products. Lifetime access is subject to reasonable downtime for maintenance, server upgrades, or circumstances beyond SCI’s reasonable control (Force Majeure).

Professional Certification Programs & Certification Maintenance/Renewal

Professional certification programs through the Sleep Coaching Institute provide three (3) years of access from the date of enrollment.

At the conclusion of the three-year certification term, certification status expires and access to certification-related benefits ends, including credential validity, practitioner directory listing (if applicable), and other professional privileges associated with certification.

Recertification & Renewal

Professional certifications issued by the Sleep Coaching Institute are valid for three (3) years from the date of certification.

Recertification is optional. To renew certification, practitioners must:

  • Successfully complete the current SCI Recertification Assessment, which evaluates knowledge and application aligned with the most recent SCI standards and best practices

  • Pay a $100 recertification fee, which renews certification status for an additional three (3) years

The recertification assessment is designed to verify continued competency while allowing practitioners to review original course materials and any updated educational content at their discretion. Completion of the recertification assessment replaces traditional continuing education unit (CEU) requirements.

Practitioners will be notified at least 90 days prior to certification expiration. If recertification is not completed by the expiration date, certification status and associated professional benefits will lapse automatically.

4. Enrollment & Account Rules

  • Participants must be 18 years or older unless written parental consent is provided.

  • Each enrollment is valid for one individual only.

  • Account sharing, credential lending, or unauthorized access is prohibited.

If account sharing is detected, access may be temporarily suspended pending resolution.

5. Certification Requirements & Scope of Practice

To earn an SCI certification, learners must:

  • Complete all required coursework

  • Pass the final exam with a score of 80% or higher

Learners are allowed up to three exam attempts. If unsuccessful, coursework access resets and may be repeated at no additional cost.

Upon successful completion, a digital certificate is issued.

SCI certifications qualify individuals as sleep health or sleep coaching professionals, depending on the program completed. Certifications do not grant authority to diagnose medical conditions, prescribe treatments, or represent oneself as a licensed healthcare provider.

SCI Certified Professionals have an ongoing duty to recognize medical 'red flags' and must refer clients to licensed medical professionals when symptoms fall outside the scope of behavioral sleep coaching.

Misrepresentation of scope of practice may result in credential revocation without refund.

As a condition of earning and maintaining SCI certification, all practitioners agree to adhere to the following Code of Ethics. Violation of these standards may result in the immediate revocation of certification and removal from the SCI practitioner directory without refund:

Professional Code of Ethics & Conduct

  • Safety First: Practitioners must prioritize client safety above all else, following recognized safe-sleep guidelines (such as the AAP) and immediately referring clients to licensed medical professionals when "red flag" symptoms (e.g., respiratory issues, failure to thrive, clinical depression) are present.
  • Professional Integrity: Practitioners shall not make false or misleading claims regarding the efficacy of sleep coaching or guarantee specific medical outcomes.
  • Scope of Practice: Practitioners must clearly communicate to clients that they are not licensed healthcare providers (unless otherwise dually licensed) and must not diagnose or treat medical or psychological disorders.
  • Ethical Marketing: Practitioners shall not use the SCI logo or name to promote "get rich quick" schemes, dangerous sleep practices, or products that have not been vetted for safety.
  • Brand Reputation: SCI reserves the right to revoke certification if a practitioner engages in illegal, unethical, or grossly unprofessional conduct that reflects poorly on the Institute or the sleep coaching profession at large.

6. Content Use & Intellectual Property

All SCI materials—including videos, worksheets, slides, assessments, and downloads—are the exclusive intellectual property of Sleep Coaching Institute.

Learners may use materials for personal education. Certified professionals may apply concepts in practice and reference limited excerpts (up to 10% of a single resource) in one-on-one client sessions with proper attribution.

Permission to use limited excerpts does not constitute a transfer of ownership. Practitioners may not modify, rebrand, or create derivative works from SCI materials for the purpose of resale or public distribution.

Unauthorized distribution, resale, platform uploading, or credential sharing is prohibited. Violations may result in immediate access revocation and legal action.

7. Program Updates & Modifications

SCI may update or refine course content to maintain educational quality and alignment with current best practices.

Updates do not extend access periods or create eligibility for refunds.

8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

SCI programs are educational in nature and do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Participants should consult qualified healthcare professionals for medical concerns, including sleep disorders, pregnancy, or chronic conditions.

Outcomes vary. SCI is not responsible for personal, professional, or health-related outcomes resulting from the use or misuse of educational materials.

Practitioner agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Sleep Coaching Institute from any claims, damages, or legal fees arising from the Practitioner's professional conduct or application of SCI materials in their private practice.

SCI makes no guarantees regarding income, client acquisition, or business results following the completion of any program. Enrollment is for educational purposes only.

9. Privacy Policy

We collect limited personal information, including email address and payment details, solely to process enrollments and provide course access.
